We at Oz Moving are happy to say that February is behind us. I am glad to say that it went better than I expected but it is still February. There is nothing more difficult for a moving company than passing the winter, it is such a drop in business volume that shakes the whole system, the whole industry.
In addition to it being February, we have the economic struggle of America to add difficulties. What makes me wonder is this, people lately are being cautious with spending, which I definitely understand, but they do not make smart decisions, just cheap decisions. You could find everything cheaper, but it will probably be of lower quality too.
I have dealt with many clients who decided to use different moving companies because of the price. When i lose a customer to a reputable company who gave the client a better price, it means the other company read the customer better than my salesperson. Touche. But when the customer goes with some company's who's number he/she found on a light pole, makes me think, why are people willing to give away quality when prices are so low???
Does someone believe that a company with such reputation as Oz Moving or other large companies compare in service to these guys with a rented truck who work from their cell phones? When industry prices dropped 20 to 30 percent, the difference in price between a real company and an amateur is much smaller than it used to be a year ago.
some decisions are emotional more that rational and some are just lacking thought. i hope the economy rebound soon, but anyway, now is a great time to get the best for much less. Shop smart not scared! Nimrod Sheinberg.
